Great fantasy and sci-fi requires depth. But keeping track of trade routes, magic rules, and royal lineage can become a nightmare. You need a system.

The "World Bible" Structure

In Hearth, create a top-level folder called "World Bible". Then, create these subfolders:

1. Magic & Technology

  • Rules: What can magic/tech do? What can't it do? (Hard vs Soft magic)
  • Cost: What is the price of using it? Energy? Materials? Life?
  • Prevalence: Is it common or rare? Illegal or celebrated?

2. Society & Culture

  • Social Classes: Rich vs Poor. Castes. Mobility.
  • Religion: Major gods, minor deities, taboos, rituals.
  • Customs: Greetings, burial rites, coming-of-age ceremonies.

3. Politics & Economy

  • Government: Monarchy? Republic? Theocracy? Anarchy?
  • Currency: Gold coins? Credits? Barter?
  • Trade: What does this nation export? What do they need to import?

4. Geography & Nature

  • Locations: Major cities, ruins, landmarks.
  • Climate: Seasons, weather patterns, disasters.
  • Flora & Fauna: Dangerous beasts, domestic animals, medicinal plants.

Why Use Hearth for World Building?

Quick Reference: When you're writing a scene and forget the name of the Fire God, you don't want to dig through physical notebooks. In Hearth, just click the "Religion" folder in your sidebar.

AI Expansion: Stuck on a culture's burial rites? Use Hearth's AI tab-complete to suggest ideas based on your existing context. "The people of the Ice Plains bury their dead by..." and let the AI spark an idea.
